Edge to Edge quilting is normally accomplished using pantographs (free motion hand guided) and computerized E2E designs. The patterns are rather uniform and repetitive. This type of quilting works well on quilts where the overall design is the standout element.

Semi-custom quilting combines custom quilting with the same quilting motif in each block. This is particularly flattering on sampler quilts and quilts with intricate piecing, as it will not overpower the beautiful piecing and fabrics.

Custom quilting is unique per quilt, often inspired by the piecing or fabric choices.
